September Sunshine

Hi sweets! How was your weekend? I worked an incredible family event this weekend, and  despite a muggy start we had incredibly wonderful and cool weather Saturday evening and Sunday.  It has been so great to turn off the AC, throw open the windows and snuggle under the duvet.  Sunday morning SSP and I did a 7 mile half marathon training run, followed by iced coffee and the most delicious bagel sandwich at Lamplighter (I recommend the Katie).  Sunday afternoon was all about small house projects, basil harvest (pesto!) and of course...football.

favorite

Its rainy in Richmond today and I have a foggy head. A big thesis deadline coming up on Monday, and while I'm anxious to get it done I'm feeling quite happy today. Maybe its John Mayer on my pandora, or coffee, or the fact that even though I'm working and going directly to the library today I'm wearing a fabulous pink dress...who knows.

Anyways, I wanted to share my favorite quote which I discovered when my friend Erin posted it a few months ago. It just makes me happy and I hope it will make you happy too.

“To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not, rich; to listen to stars and birds, babes and sages, with open heart; to study hard; to think quietly, act frankly, talk gently, await occasions, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common - this is my symphony."
