Tri Thursday (and other topics)

So while my ultimate goal/resolution is to compete in the I Love the Tavern Triathlon in June, I'm currently also training for the Monument Avenue 10k. Now, while swimming is my sport of choice running is not my strong suit. Seriously. I ran cross country in high school and my nickname (thank you WAHS boys x-c team) was "Tortuga." I was THAT slow. I've gotten a little little better though. In 2007 I ran the 10k in my fastest time, 55.07, while in 2008 due to a collapsed arch I ran a 100.68, 2009 with a little help from my gal Marty I finished in 57.17. The goal this year is to run it in 54 flat.....we shall see, how this goes.....yikes.

In non triathlon related news, lets talk about kitty cats. Meet our new little family member Camilla, or as Jon calls her "Camilla Bandita Inspektor Pilot Day-Martin" Sorry for the action shot of me holding her for a picture. She's a quick ninja!!!

i was on xc team in hs and i was in the third slowest group of the team always...we didn't run 10ks a lot so i don't remember what i ran for that but i do remember my best 3 mile was 21 something minutes. not stellar...although now i would think it was to run even a mile that fast!! so anyway if you run a 10k in 54 minutes i will be proud of you too because i dont think i could even run a 5k anymore. i was never that into running, just did it because my friends were on the team and quit when i went to college and have only run a several times a year since.

Julia- Whoaaaa 21 for a 3 miler- you were a quick runner. I was seriously the slowest runner ever(my 5k's were around 24 - 26 minutes):)

Your kitty is cute! Its so funny that you thought your 10K time was bad, because I am running so much worse then that and am so proud of myself! Ha, ha, can't wait to read more about the new addition in the future!
